Purpose: To teach child care providers when and how to provide first aid for common childhood injuries as well as other first aid considerations and to prepare individuals in child care sitting to provide care for breathing emergencies, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest.
NOTE: Child Care workers must also take Preventative Health Safety to meet California State EMSA requirements.

Prerequisites: None

Certificate Issued and Validity Period:
(CA Child Care) Pediatric First Aid: 2 years
CPR/AED - Adult plus Child and Infant CPR: 1 year

Course Location: Tulare-Kings Office


NOTE: Prompt arrival for class on time is required—(Classroom Door wll be locked after 10minutes prior to class start) students arriving after the start of class will have to reschedule. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and bringing a snack or lunch for classes scheduled for more than four hours; soft drinks are available from a vending machine at the American Red Cross classroom.
If you do not show up for your class, there is no refund.

Purpose: The purpose of the American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training course is to provide individuals, ages 11 to 15, with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of their parents or adult guardians. This training will help participants develop skills in leadership and professionalism: basic care, safety play: and first aid.

Certification Requirements:
* Must be 11 years of age by the last scheduled date of the course:
