Be Prepared

The American Red Cross

How can you help? The Disaster Action Team needs more local volunteers. We respond to calls for local emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The American Red Cross handles over 60,000 calls for house and apartment fires annually. The Fresno-Madera chapter responds to single and multiple family fires, floods, earthquakes, blackout assistance, wild fires, and other emergencies. Our Disaster Action Team volunteers are the people who respond to assist with these emergencies.

The DSHR team consists of individuals who have been nominated by the Chapter and receive specialized training. They are then available to assist at disasters nationwide as well as locally.
